Also, the microwave is safe. The City of South Euclid retrieved it from its bench and brought it inside, where it will no longer suffer the cold.
In a post from The City of South Euclid, there is a photo of The Microwave sitting on a seafoam-green countertop, surrounded by holiday decor. It had 16 "likes" at the time of the screen capture. The City of South Euclid writes: "The microwave is safe, Cleveland. What started as an abandoned appliance on a bench grew into a viral phenomena that captured the essence of Cleveland's holiday spirit. The level of creativity with ornaments, memes, and pilgrimages was simply amazing. We commend those who left canned food and donated to the Cleveland Food Bank. It brought out the best in our community, radiating joy far and wide. The microwave was removed, but it's not gone. We've become caretakers of a Cleveland legend and will use the opportunity to help others.
