I find first scenes as challenging as they are exciting. It can be your only chance of grabbing some readers/viewers' attention.

These weren't even part of the beginning of the book but a flashback halfway through, but eventually thought they worked better at the beginning.

❤️this quote from The Haunting of Bly Manor.

One of the questions in my love/ghost story is: if soulmates exist, what if one dies before meeting the other? Are they limited to the same time period?
What if mine was a 15th-century baker? Is their ghost still haunting me?

That'd explain the cravings.

Love sketching scenes (left).

I especially love the part when an actual expert then sketches them properly 😅

(My little stick people are cute though!).

Proper #sketch (on the right. As if an aclaration is needed) by Italian #comic artist Deborah Lancianese.

🤓 I spent a while trying for the title to read "Love" when turned upside down. I'm sure a typographer would have done a better job, but this is the best I could do.
"Gaol" is dated English for "prison" and also gaelic for "love". Both words relate to the main male character of the #book. 1/2

Throwback to the original cover of the Spanish #book.

This was created by my publisher Ediciones Kiwi back in 2017.
Not a fan of the nail varnish, and the artwork has been used by many publishers before, but I think it is cute and reflects quite well the story of Ariadna and Capt Carlos Vásquez.
