Now watching a dark horse candidate for best action movie of the 80s: Invasion USA (1985). I love the story that when it was finished they thought there was too much plot, so they edited it down to nothing but action sequences. Golan and Globus knew what they were doing 📽️

When you’re sick, the only real cure is some Schwarzenegger. Now watching Commando (1985). This has one of the best collections of dudes in film: Bill Duke, Dan Hedaya, David Patrick Kelly, and Vernon Wells. Even Bill Paxton shows up in a small role 📽️

It's amazing how chicken soup is the elixir to everything that ails you

Home sick so watching a comfort food show, Mr. Show with Bob and David (1995). And yes, I realize the irony of starting a show that features Jay Johnston today 📺

I’m sick as hell, work super early, but Canada’s Hockey Teens are having another heater against Czechia

Look at my doctor, dawg, I'm definitely going to get my pussy eaten by my twin sister, making me die and allowing her to regain the ability to feel sexual pleasure

Late night weirdos we’re watching The Portrait of Doriana Gray (1976) aka Die Marquise von Sade. One of Jess Franco’s more explicit films, Lina Romay is an isolated marquise with an identical twin that she’s had locked away. Don’t know much about this one otherwise 📽️

I can’t keep looking at the 49ers 2001 numetal ass jerseys, so now watching Slave of the Cannibal God (1978) aka Mountain of the Cannibal God. Maybe the only cannibal boom movie with pedigree. Directed by Sergio Martino, starring Ursula Andress and Stacy Keach 📽️ #horrosky

It's here: the annual round-up of my favorite folk horror media! As always, these are not strictly 2025 releases but rather the movies I watched for the first time (mostly) throughout the year. What were your favorites?
2025 Year in Review: The Best Folk Horror Movies (and One TV Show) I Watched
Last year was rough, to put it lightly. Like many of you, I struggled to claw my attention back from a barrage of anxieties on the personal, national, and global levels. My resolution to document w…

Now watching Calvaire (2004). Don’t know much about it beyond it’s supposed to be very feel bad in a good way and Brigitte Lahaie is in it. I think it’s getting a fancy pants restoration release soon 📽️ #horrorsky

Watching Canada's Hockey Boys absolutely dismantle Slovakia

Just threw some ketchup chips into the mix. Fuck it, who cares anymore
I had a sausage and egg sandwich for breakfast, fried spring rolls for lunch, and chicken alfredo for dinner and things are not going well

My top first time watches for 2025, listed alphabetically. I was originally going to do 20, but it was so hard to whittle down that 25 for 25 seemed appropriate

Started a movie but Jan 1st is not a day to have to think about things, so it’s been back to Taskmaster

Stevie and Jason’s relationship in this series is generally sweet. When she wins the live task in the ep I’ve just watched, the first person she looks to while screaming joyfully is Jason
Snuck in a watch of Ilsa: She-Wolf of the SS (1975), no poster because I try to avoid swastikas on my page. Now ending the year with a continued rewatch of my favourite Taskmaster series: Nineteen. The Mantzoukas season 📽️

I stayed up way too late watching The Stuff. No regrets, it is awesome, but Michael Moriarty really needed to do something about his hair. Thread below📽
Fuck it, let’s stay up and watch The Stuff (1985) by Maestro Larry Cohen. Saw this as a kid, but never since. So far loving that Michael Moriarty is doing a Benoit Blanc accent 📽️ #horrorsky

Ringing out the year with The Masque of the Red Death (1964). Checking the box of another of the Poe Cycle movies. While I’ve never seen it, it’s very seen enough caps to expect this to be the most beautiful of them all 📽️ #horrorsky
