Hey stats folks. I'm trying to get up to speed on stats in medicine instead of my overall training in regression. I have a student that wants to compare a new diagnostic tool against an existing one. We can sample printers with confirmed diagnosis. Any tips on the model to test the new tool?

So if an anthropologist applies for a position teaching statistics at a nursing college, should their job talk focus on their (non-statistical) research, or a lecture focused on statistics?

Anyone from the Great White North familiar with the Statistique Canada interface? Trying to get a small dataset together, but I'm struggling to figure out how to pull a csv file.

Look hear me out. I know I was in Hawaii last week, and it's paradise, and beautiful but when my dad passed the CBC, and specifically Stuart McLean and The Vinyl Cafe got me through it. After spreading the last of Dad's ashes in HI a conference across the street from CBC feels better than paradise.

Hawaii has been pretty rad. Another half day before a Red Eye back to Milwaukee, luggage reset, office hours, and I get into the car and head to Toronto. I thought I had an extra night to recover, but not if I want to see a presentation on the new book Haunted Biologies Wednesday afternoon.

Today started with a Hawaiian convenience store breakfast, free books, a stop by my Para-conference poster (photo courtesy of some nice folks at RAC in Ontario, and this view. I'm too drippy a person to spend a lot of time in Hawaii, but while I'm here, it's a great use of Graduate School funds.
