I can't believe I didn't sell merch at my dad's funeral. I must not have loved him very much.

The two things I miss the most from my childhood, are my dad, and the ability to fall asleep.

Last July 1 was the immunity ruling.
This July 1 the Führer is touring a concentration camp while the viceFührer and GOP Senate take away healthcare from millions to line the pockets of the uberwealthy.
When those responsible are lined up against a wall, the chant will be Remember the First of July.

This audiobook, going on discount today, feels eerily on theme. Who wants to disassociate with me?

Happy Canada Day, not only to those who celebrate, but also to those who stare longingly across the border, dreaming of once again living in a North American, non-fascist government.

I find it fascinating that the sci-fi writers of the 50s. 60s, and 70s—who really only had knowledge of fairly rudimentary programming—have been so on0target in predicting the moral choices, and the misbehaviors, the AI would make.
OpenAI's 'smartest' AI model was explicitly told to shut down — and it refused

Today's aging indignity: My wife just made a wisecrack, and I responded by snapping a suitably sarcastic thumbs up. My wrist made a wretched cracking, grinding noise she could hear from the other side of the room, and now my wrist hurts to move.

So there's that.

Got my favorite pen back from the shop today. I was having an extra section made so I can't use the other main kind of nib. Which means now I can use my favorite nib in this pen.

We just met a mid-size dog out on the speedway trails that had an epic, drama-queen meltdown when I told her humans that she could not come to say hello to Clove because Clove is scared of dogs. Literally fell to the ground howling and pounding the ground in a Fred-Flintstone tantrum.

OMG y'all. Would you just look at this baby bunny that I saw out in the yard tonight? There's at least three of them. And I swear I could fit two into the palm of one hand. I'm a 52yo man and I 💯% squeed.

This Wednesday I'm restricted to a liquid diet. Today and tomorrow I have a very slightly restricted diet. And of course everything I want for a three-bite snack, right now, is all the stuff I can't have.

Part one in a new series called "Stupid shit I own, that I'm not getting rid of when we move."

My aunt gave me this stuffed, mounted moose head for my birthday, probably 30 years ago, and it's hung over every desk I've had since then.

I've been on hold with the hospital GI clinic for about 10 minutes, and right now I'm, taking bets on what will send me into a monday-morning rampage first:

A. The hold music loop is only 28 seconds long
B. It's not seamless, and there's a garbled glitch-stutter with each loop

I guess I'd better make a dental appointment. Yesterday, part of a tooth just crumbled. It's one I had a root canal on long ago, so it doesn't hurt, but I'm gonna bet I have a crown in my near future.
