21 years ago today, ‘Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater’ released in North America on the PS2. This action/adventure stealth game was actually the 5th game in the series produced/directed by Hideo Kojima & is a prequel to the series. It was remade for modern platforms this year.

25 years ago today (11/14/00), Squaresoft released ‘Final Fantasy IX’ to North America on the PlayStation. Originally released in Japan the previous July, this title was developed alongside FFVIII and went back to its medieval roots in terms of setting. It has sold 8.9 million copies.
