I heavily headcanon that FF7 has many, many languages, just based on how remote some of the regions are and the cultural differences among Gaia's people.

I'd like to think their training is accelerated depending on if Shinra is at war (*Shinra's always at war or scheming to be*) Give or take a year or less for primary/on-base training, and then field training for a few months after that, up to a year maybe?

I headcanon that Turk recruits are vetted from a young age and it's very grueling with them having to undergo extensive physical and book training. Anyone who doesn't pass goes straight to lesser infantry, and I imagine the larger hubs (Junon, Midgar) host those programs/camps.

This checks out to me, too. Like the Turks are Shinraβs idea of special forces, akin to SOLDIER. No different from the Green Berets or Navy Seals IRL.

I have a soft spot for characters with disabilities, big and small, and it is endearing AF to imagine Reno exceling in another form to make up for what he knows is inalienable.
