In my AI and Theology class, we read the Techno Optimist Manifesto from Marc Andreessen today. Was surprised and impressed by how skeptical the students were of the whole thing, the idea of limitless growth that underlies it, and its view of the human person.

And if development is not simply any change whatsoever but a function of intelligence, then we’ve not risked doctrine at all. We’ve merely specified and expanded the same intelligible field.
Doctrine doesn't change, and when it does, we will always have believed the new thing
