Thought maybe the Nox might show up... Though with all the sweet music dueling, maybe it should be the Devil from Tribute (to the greatest song in the world). 😜

There is no world in which it is normal for the president to publicly call upon his attorney general to hurry up and prosecute his political foes. It’s like the Watergate tapes but posted on social media. Let’s get a grip on what’s happening here.

It's at times like these, I go to Burke, Burke, Peter Burke. Bribery seems like small fries compared to Caffery.

Been thinking a lot lately about the morals of Jesus of Nazareth.

As a tan man from the Middle East, if Jesus were an undocumented American immigrant, I wonder if angry mobs would get ICE to deport him — especially for speaking out against greed and advocating for the poor.

This is the same as saying the rule of law doesn't apply:

"DOJ attorney says the only information he is authorized to disclose — even to the judge — is that the government did not violate the order. He cannot say more, he says, based on “national security concerns.”

HINT: The administration is not complying with the court order.
Murphy: "I continue to get reports from Connecticut that agencies there, like Head Start programs and community health centers, are actually not receiving the funding they are due. So I think there's a big question as to whether the administration actually is implementing the court order."

We collectively haven’t been taking the plans laid out by Project 2025 seriously enough. They want to destroy NOAA so people won’t know that climate change is happening. It sounds stupid and alarmist if you haven’t been paying attention.
Project 2025 plan calls for demolition of NOAA and National Weather Service
The call to dismantle the United States' vital weather department has raised the hackles of experts who say NOAA provides not only important free data but also life-saving information.

EMERGENCY PIECE: Previous reports that Musk's DOGE programmers only have "read only" access is inaccurate. I can confirm what @wired.com first reported at 1 AM today that they have Read & WRITE access with a source in BFS referring to this as "apocalyptic"

While the vast majority of Americans have a birth certificate, tens of millions of married women could not present their birth certificate as proof of citizenship under the SAVE Act, as it does not display their current legal name.

The SAVE Act Would Disenfranchise Millions of Citizens
The SAVE Act would require all Americans to prove their citizenship with documentation unavailable to millions and upend the way every American citizen registers to vote.

Sounds like TikTokers took notes during their RedNote exile…!

TikTokers have been adopting code phrases to get around the algorithm’s attempts to suppress their conversations on topics that matter more than, say, fashion — with a breakout example, now widely reported, being “cute winter boots.”

I realized awhile ago that trying to out run society is a fools errand. Even if you handle all of the survival complexity you're left with:
Why!?

And, if that answer involves progeny, you should also realize what kind of life/world you're leaving them.

Survival involves all of us.

Wondering where these "climate risk" scores come from? Zillow is relying on models from First Street. When my colleagues @bloomberg.com compared FS predictions to another popular option this year, the outcomes were "startlingly different."

Probably 'depends on experience'... Err, ahem, sorry, 'connections'? 🙄
I hope that first number is missing at least three 0s.

People sometimes make fun of science that sounds stupid and random.

Meanwhile, a study of lizard saliva turned into a peptide medication, which was turned into a diabetes medication, which was turned into a GLP1 weight loss drug, that just became the first therapy every approved for … sleep apnea
Breaking News: The FDA approved use of the weight loss drug Zepbound for a common form of sleep apnea. It is the first drug authorized to treat the disorder.

Fascinating.
I do wonder if this is more regarding the perils of prosperity without self discipline then the perils of population overgrowth.

Or to put it in terms that Agent Smith would recognize, "Do humans define their existence through suffering?"
