Question for my (ethno)musicolgy folks. For job talks, do you prefer to include a few general "introduction" slides of your research projects, or is a more focused/conference-style presentation the norm?

This is absolutely terrifying and heartbreaking.
Brandeis is putting its storied composition and musicology programs on hiatus, with plans to eliminate both. A huge blow, and it’s very difficult to imagine what the justification is beyond the increasingly pervasive idea that the arts and humanities are no longer the business of higher ed.
