Really, BBC? “Too all-powerful”? As opposed to just about all-powerful enough?

The last open question from the defunct LLF process was to work out how we actually do doctrine. The attempt to answer that question has fallen rather short of the mark >>
The good old CofE has had a crack at defining what it means by “doctrine”. This Mouse thinks they have made a bit of a hash of it www.churchmousepublishing.co.uk/2025/11/the-...

Writing a new blog post ... first one in a while! The Church of England still can't work out how to do doctrine.

Slightly shocked by the latest report by the Faith and Order Commission on the nature of doctrine in the Church of England. It is an interesting read, but makes no mention whatsoever of any previous work by the Church of England on the matter. It is entirely derived from first principles.

A short thread on international spy ships and why the British have the best one.
Bond is still trying to keep the British end up, it seems with this small but advanced British drone spy ship. We win, I think.

For the Chinese, size clearly matters when it comes to spy ships

The Americans are all function and no aesthetic with their spy ship

I have to admit I’m a bit disappointed by this. Not exactly what I imagined an advanced Russian spy ship would look like. Seems more like a Norwegian deep sea fishing vessel to me.

Using the phrase “prone to error” is surely Pichai’s pitch to be the Gerald Ratner of tech.

The folly of this is almost beyond belief. Even if you believed that Musk is a uniquely talented leader, the idea that the only possible motivation to keep him actively involved with Tesla is to drown him more money that anyone in human history has had is the definition of madness.

I see the government have achieved their stated ambition - “one out”. Can we move on from this now?

Are we treating the data behind the “quiet revival” claims the same way we would treat negative data about church attendance? I don’t think so.

Apologies for the delay - finally got round to my second blog post on the data behind the Quiet Revival research and why I don't trust it. Will be up on Monday.

Hard to think of a worse model for peace than to try to imitate the situation in the West Bank.

Thank you @CommonsCMS, for recognising in your letter to @DCMS the importance of the Listed Places of Worship Grant Scheme, need for a clear future beyond 2026, and the role played by churches as hubs in their community. #Church @thechurchmouse.bsky.social @churchofengland.org @synodnews.bsky.social

It is laughable and utterly nonsensical.
This should worry everyone.

It seems Anglican Ink has copied and pasted an entire blog post of mine and labeled it an Op Ed without asking me. They do link and attribute but still…
