Miles was something special, and he was determined to see if they could finally have the missing piece in their almost completed puzzle. I was so glad to see that what was once the short story, After, had been turned into a full-length novel! I read After last year and enjoyed it, but felt like it would benefit from getting all three men’s POVs because the dynamic between them was very interesting and complex, and it was kind of jarring to just be thrown into it during the short version of this story.

He’s going to be the thing that takes me down. He’s going to be the one to figure out my secret. I can feel it. What a fantastic book! I loved everything about it, even the hard parts. Ethan and Hayden were so wonderful together, and whenever I reluctantly had to set it down, I was always thinking about when I’d be able to get back to it.

"I want you to be happy. I don’t think you are.” I looked into his eyes, admiring the familiar, gentle brown that did a terrifyingly good job of hiding the passionate, energetic, determined man he really was. “I’m happy right now.” His full lips curled up in a sweet smile. “I’m going to keep making that happen for you.” This was pure grumpy/sunshine gold!

This was amazing. I’d been trying to get his attention for years. Who knew all I had to do was take my shirt off and insult him to his face? I loved the first book in this series and this book was good too, but not quite on the same level as the first book for me. In fact, the things I enjoyed most about this one were the parts that directly related to the first book.

Luckily I wasn’t reading it while out in public because it had me laughing out loud a lot! If you like rom-coms that get the comedy parts right, I think you’ll really enjoy this one.

God, he’d never felt this way about a man before. Well, maybe Pedro Pascal, but he was pretty sure most human beings felt that way about him. This was different. Ridge and Oz were the sweetest! I’ve had a soft spot for Oz ever since I saw what happened to him in Frey’s book, so I was excited to see him as one of the main characters in this book.

I bought this audiobook on a whim during the last big Audible sale because Cooper North was one of the narrators.
