Vasectomy humor aside: I know folks who’ve lost their only son or only daughter out of some number of the other, and I can’t imagine how much it would hurt to be asked this especially early on.
Lots of these situations desperately need some new quips.

We were out at dinner and some lady was like “3 girls! y’all gonna try for a boy?”
I said “nope, got a vasectomy” and she looked aghast that I shared that. Ma’am you just asked about our sex life.
Anyway- I recommend it. Took 20 mins start to finish, is reversible. AMA.

#dataBS I have a terminology question: I’m extracting more than one instance of a table from a single source (e.g., ERP customers). Same source db, same table definition, different data as they’re for separate entities.
