They need to do a remake of Maniac Mansion from the NES. It was a really impressive and ambitious game for the era and I think that it could be something amazing in the modern era even as just a point-and-click adventure.

It was weird and interesting and I think it has the potential!
My wife and I love watching Christmas movies throughout December and it has been a huge joy to watch our 4 and 6 yo sons enjoy many of them.

Our favorite one by far though, is when we watch National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation on Christmas Eve after putting the boys to bed. We can't wait!

I can't help fixating on the CBS/60 Minutes thing and the fact that we are now forced to watch the truth about our country through media released in other, less fascist countries. It's horrifying how quickly Trump's cult has moved the USA towards North Korea. Unfathomable to find ourselves here.

My spotify wrapped had me rolling. I think the algorithm doesn't know what to do with some people, cause my "listening age" and my genres strike me as a really funny combination.

UFO 50 is more than a year old but it sat on my wishlist for a while before I got it. A few months ago I got it and played through it with one of my best friends and we had such a good time. The games are really incredible with several being so good that they could justify the price alone!

When I was in high school, I knew a guy that always ranted about how anyone who liked popular music had terrible taste because he was just SO indie and sophisticated. I get the exact same vibe from many in the video game and ttrpg communities now. Sometimes things are popular because they're fun.

Really hear me out:

Presidents get one single 6 year term.

Right now they spend the first two years of their first term blaming the last guy and the last two years preparing for campaign/reelection. No chance of reelection and make them use their time wisely.

Hear me out:

Full clean out on Congress. Everyone's out regardless of party. No re-elections. New members have term limits and are not allowed to trade stocks at all. Try to eliminate the lifelong dirty wealth and return them to public servants.

We need to flood the internet with the concept that AI is best suited to replaced executives and managers.

Think about it, it is terrible at actual work and specialized skills, but executives are so worthless and more often than not make terrible decisions based on biases.

Nintendo paid homage to the 1991 Paul Rudd SNES commercial by bringing him back to make one for Switch 2.

This is amazing.

Yet another @wshcapitals.bsky.social game is blacked out for me on ESPN+ (@espn.com). This is the second game in a row blacked out. I don't know why I bother paying for ESPN+ at all. They did the same garbage with NHL Live back in the day. Blacked out 32 games one year. Nearly half the season.

As a Christian and an American, I despise what Trump is, what he represents, and what he and his cult are doing to my country. These tariffs are idiotic and, while I expect it will make things more difficult for my family, I hope they prove Trump to be the failure he is.

It is now day 2 without power at our house. I came home from a 24hr shift at the fire station to find lines down leading down the road. No power also means no water since we're on a well. Dominion Energy says they're hoping to have it back up tonight. It would be nice if that was true!

Just read this absolutely phenomenal article on Spotify's efforts to trick listeners into hearing what Spotify wants and to keep even more money out of the hands of artists and musicians:

I am a fool. I bought the FF7 bundle on steam to:
1. Replay Remake on pc
2. Play the Intermission for the first time
3. Play Rebirth for the first time, which I was VERY excited for.

As Remake and Intermission played great, I missed the RTX demand for Rebirth. I am heartbroken that I can't play it.

I also FINALLY started Sea of Stars last night (I know, I know, it's been in my To Play list for SOOOO long). It's just completely awesome. I only managed a bit before I had to get some sleep, but it is so great and I can't wait to play more!

I couldn't be more impressed with Slay the Princess. I am four playthroughs deep after a week or two and I have gotten drastically different results/endings each time. My pacifist playthough made my heart feel the best, but my NOTHING BUT SLAY had the most enjoyable individual moments!

Finally got around to my first playthrough of Slay the Princess today and really enjoyed it! What a cool concept/game it is. I think it's a wonderful example of video games as art.

Ghost of Tsushima was a pure delight. The environments were stunning, to the extent that I often just stopped and looked around in admiration. The juxtaposition of the war-torn island with its natural beauty was amazing. The combat was also impressive while being both challenging and fun.

It's cold and still snowy/icy here and I'm at work reading all these posts about being comfy at home playing games. I am at work on shift until 8am just being JEALOUS.

I am replaying FF7Remake in order to have it completed on PC before Rebirth goes live. I am enjoying Remake a lot more the second time. As a huge fan of the original FF7, I think I was expecting something a bit different when it first came out. It's been fun.

I just had an interesting Bluesky error. What I like to call: the Lightning Round. Where every time I tried to move the screen slightly to scroll it would scroll dozens of posts in a second in that direction. It was impressive and disorienting all at once!
