I’m disappointed the republicans didn’t make it much harder for Mike Johnson to be chosen as speaker again. But I think their attempt at appearing united is going to crumble quickly. trump can threaten them to do what he wants, but how soon will that get old, too?

A Republican I can agree with. Before Newt Gingrich came on the scene, interactions between Ds and Rs was encouraged and seen as a necessary part of their role. Gingrich changed that, requiring freshman Rs to go through orientation with Rs. Knowing the other side matters. 🎁 article.

I’m falling back into old coping mechanisms. When my mom died, I painted the kitchen. When I was depressed, I painted the dining room and 1/2 bathroom. When my dad died, I didn’t paint. I got divorced. I left those painted walls behind. Now that trump’s back, I’m painting our hall bath. 1/2

Life’s feeling much more like a ball on a roulette wheel these days. And it’s probably only going to get worse. So, I’ve decided that I will stop reading my phone and pick up more books. And read them. I don’t mean just pick them up. In case that wasn’t clear. 🤨 📚📖 I just started this one. 👇🏼
