Nobody has asked me recently, but I sometimes feel pretty conspicuous on Bluesky with the username "Teslord". Here's an explanation of what Tesla (and by extension Elon) has meant to me over the last decade +

Is it weird that shopping at Costco makes me feel virtuous?

I used to shop at the Family Fare in Holland, Michigan (in the 90s. I'm not that old yet)
One of my favorite advertising tropes from the early-mid 60's, was the insistent shoehorning of the Beatles and rock n roll music into ads by people who clearly had never actually seen or heard of the Beatles or rock n roll music (Family Fare in Holland, Michigan 1964)

I think this is about the President shitting himself
Over unsounded gorges, through the rifled hearts of mountains, under torrents’ beds, unerringly I rush!

A decade+ ago, people used to "showroom": find products in local stores and then buy them from Amazon.

Now I often find products on Amazon and then buy directly from the manufacturer.

How about that! A nice li'l climate bill (and hopefully a prelude to a carbon border adjust) snuck across the line.

Wish I had access to the full article
Language from the PROVE IT Act was included in a funding package that is now law!

"It's like so many legislative accomplishments. It starts years before it's accomplished," Sen. Cramer told @eenews.bsky.social.

CCL is part of the story of those years... 🧵 subscriber.politicopro.com/article/eene...
E&E News: How Congress came to approve a long-shot carbon trade bill
Republican Sen. Kevin Cramer kept a “cone of silence” around his "PROVE IT Act" as it was tucked into a spending package.

One knife to peanut butter BOTH sides of bread, which makes a hydrophobic seal and prevents soggy, jammy bread.

On spoon to dollop jam in the center of the bread.
I just found out that my spouse makes a PB&J sandwich using the same knife for both toppings, instead of one knife for each separate container.

We've been married for over 16 years. I cannot believe I just discovered this NOW.

Is it 1 knife or 2 when making PB&J? Chime in!

Model S was 14 years old. Model X was 11 years old

Model 3 is 9 years old and Model Y is 6 years old. Now only a hideous new Cybertruck and aging midsize vehicles are available. Tesla stopped innovating in vehicles a long time ago.
Musk announces the end of the Model S and Model X programs, which were down nearly 50% last year.

We expect to wind down production of S and X next quarter, he says. Like every other bizarre Tesla decision, this is justified by Tesla's broader pivot away from cars and toward AI and robotics.

I've been thinking about this too, how the people are protectors of their communities. Anyone have a better word than 'protestor'?
There is nothing wrong with protesting - it is a good thing to do! But calling these acts protests is incomplete and diminishing. They are motivated by protesting the acts of the federal government but ultimately amount to much more.

Could be followed by a boycott of the LA28 Olympics too
I genuinely think boycotting the World Cup is some of the strongest leverage the Europeans have.
A German soccer federation executive committee member says it's time to consider a World Cup boycott because of the actions of U.S. President Donald Trump.

Major #carbonpricing news this month:

The EU has "fully implement[ed] a functioning border carbon adjustment policy."

In order to trade certain goods with Europe, "importers must now pay for the greenhouse gas emissions contained on their products."

Trumplethinskin can dish it out, but just can't take it.

Because someone called him a "Pedophile Protector", the short-fingered vulgarian flipped the tiniest bird imaginable. 😂
