Nobody has asked me recently, but I sometimes feel pretty conspicuous on Bluesky with the username "Teslord". Here's an explanation of what Tesla (and by extension Elon) has meant to me over the last decade +

Alaska is America's Northernmost, Westernmost, AND Easternmost state.

And Hawaii is Southernmost.
Man, everything is so bleak, anyone got a fun fact or little bit of trivia they want to share

Also good thing that my Kia has no fuel tank
Good reminder that it is not just EVs that get recalled.
Hyundai, Kia recall over 330K vehicles, warn fuel tanks could melt

Very cool charts. Would have loved to have had this with our Rivian at the car show I participated in a few months ago. MANY people in Western Colorado think that battery replacements are a requirement after 110k miles.
Absolutely LOVE this updated Recurrent Automotive post on EV battery life. Especially the breakdown by generation and brand!

Looking for the fastest charging with the best battery life? There's just no one competing Hyundai's EV tech - best all around 🇺🇸 Mrkt

Love me some small-glassed beer too
as a fan of drinking beer in small glasses i appreciate it when a restaurant or bar serves 8 or 10 ounce drafts in addition to the usual pint

As a former paralegal in a personal injury firm, I can tell you that AI tools are being pushed HARD to practices, and in my case, pushed hard by management to us as a means to work more efficiently
As a supervising attorney, I am here to tell young lawyers that AI is absolutely a threat to your career. I do not mean that it will replace you. I mean that if you use it, you increase the risk that another attorney will replace you when you are fired. www.reuters.com/sustainabili...
Two federal judges say use of AI led to errors in US court rulings
Two federal judges admitted in response to an inquiry by U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley that members of their staff used artificial intelligence to help prepare recent court orders that Grassley called "error-ridden."

Aside from the colored borders and *maybe* ill-fitting khaki pants from the Gap, I fail to see a difference
The New York Times publishes a handy guide to which federal forces are terrorizing us at any moment. This is America, 2025.

Mean nasty hobbitses
One possible reason for persistent legends of humanlike but not-human creatures living near us is that for a lot of prehistory it was true.

You have to train 36 weeks to be a barber in Colorado. Way longer than ICE obviously, but also longer than cops
NBC News finds that:
-- ICE has shortened its training from 13 weeks to six.
-- Nearly half of recruits couldn’t pass an open-book written exam.
-- Recruits "are supposed to attest" they can pass the physical-fitness test, which requires them to run ... 6 mph.

Some new ICE recruits have shown up to training without full vetting
The recruits have had criminal backgrounds or failed drug tests or were unable to meet physical or academic standards, raising concerns about the agency’s rush to hire immigration officers, sources to...

I think about this, and it's perplexing that with ~50 renewables, our "off peak" hours are 5-9pm all year around instead of sunnier hours
13. By 2030 most countries will have spot power prices of zero in sunny hours. This will be passed on to end consumers, to encourage them to shift power demand to sunny periods by electric vehicle and battery charging, preheating, precooling, etc.

We are on day 20 of the shutdown, which the Republican majority could end any time they wanted by changing Senate rules to allow votes on appropriations bills with 50 votes, something they did for nominations at the beginning of September.

This shutdown is an active choice of Republicans.
