We're proud to announce that the Marathon of Hope Cancer Centres Network has reached this major milestone. The Gold Cohort, Canada's largest and most complete cancer resource, will accelerate precision oncology and pave the way for more personalized, effective cancer care across the country.
It all started with one.

Now we’re 15,000 strong.

In 2021, we set out to create Canada’s largest and most complete cancer resource: the Gold Cohort.

Today, over 15,000 genomes have been sequenced.

With renewed support from Terry Fox funding, a research team, co-led by Dr. David Huntsman and Dr. Torsten Nielsen, aims to improve early detection and develop more targeted, less toxic treatments for six types of sarcoma affecting children, adolescents and young adults.
