setting up a new hetzner dedicated server and of course nixos installer doesn't work and of course there's a nixos discourse thread containing kind people with many hacks that none of which works and after it works and a reboot, total silence over port 22! but that's about enough for tonight

i need to restart my personal blog. the main problem is i have a ton of ideas to share, but each idea can be just a few sentences, and elaborating to paragraphs, screenshots, repos etc is just chore. and i don't want ai for elaboration, despite i'm an ai fanboy in other areas

time to speed run getting banned by ai provider! i got some research i'd like to not do with my gpt/gemini main accounts, and openrouter is highway to bankruptcy. but glm coding plan has a 3$ per month subscription with openai endpoints so definitely gotta give that a try

it's remarkable that something as small as 1.2b can get this far. it's even correct for one input! it's a slight pity that it doesn't work for other inputs but still

why do people buy mac minis to run clawdbot or whatever that makes it to the hn frontpage once??? isn't it just a few lines of code away from plumbing a headless browser into an existing agent, and what about sandboxing...ah. they just yolo their home dirs and payment credentials, what's a sandbox

the biggest evil of js ecosystem is not dynamic typing, it's abusing emojis and contaminating my terminal with emojis

i'm researching how to do datalog with higher order function and fuzzy query on some kind of graph database on top of sqlite. this is a weird bag of buzzwords to be put together in a sentence, but how did i end up here in the first place. ah. i'm trying to do crossover ships of random couples

one of my ai bittersweets is that i've not been able to cook a workflow that outputs slop lightnovels that fit my taste, despite i already dedicate a huge portion of my life to isekais and stuff. the novels simply lack something, something that's present even in machine translated syosetu text

i look at alien code produced in 30min that would take me months that requires digging into undocumented c++ codebases. i weep for my dim future as i review code. until i see things like `isolates :: IORef [Ptr Isolate]`. haha rookie mistake!!! i rejoice and go watch anime without feeling guilty

terminal >>> mcp. teach your agent to type code into a repl in a tmux session. you don't need to dig into all those random mcp registries out there most of the time, trust me

iteration >>> planning. flush the planning mode and markdown documents with checkboxes down the kitchen sink. you never know what you really want before you have an mvp that kinda works, and your time is better spent in the kinda works to fully work phase, not from zero to kinda works phase

the next haskell should be skill-issue-proof. yes no language can be idiot proof, but skill-issue-proof is a hard but workable goal (for a new language). fragmented heap? skill issue! thunk lifetime? skill issue! when to inline? skill issue! my neurons are wasted for these patterns with no room for

sorry you can't assist with what? you can't assist with a simple refactoring to add a toggle to the runtime to allow passing unpinned bytearray in a safe ccall? how the heck is that nsfw. please when you reject at least pretend to be cute like o...onisama...today is unsafe so no io

sched_idle is great for my day job as ghc dev, i source this whenever i compile and test stuff unless i need to benchmark elapsed time:

```
renice --priority 19 --pid $$
chrt --idle --all-tasks --verbose --pid 0 $$
ionice --class 3 --pid $$
```

have you added -march=x86-64-v3/apple-m1 to CONF_CC_OPTS_STAGE2/CONF_CXX_OPTS_STAGE2 when building and installing your ghc? low hanging fruit for performance right there
