Crozet resident who loves biking, knitting, and sunsets over the Blue Ridge. Crozet Trails Crew.
Three years ago, Lumos (now tmobile) buried fiber in #crozet. Now someone else is digging holes for more fiber on the same street. I don't understand.

It was a great afternoon for a guided walk on the #Crozet Greenway. We introduced several new people to our lovely trail network.

I am pretty faithful about using my #ebike instead of driving within #crozet but it does get challenging when you have to look good for an 8:30 am meeting and it's 40°. I'm not the type to show in biking tights when I want to impress.

Sunrise in October, when the Blue Ridge turns orange. Happy Halloween! #crozet

I wish all those roundabout haters on Nextdoor understood this.

I thought I had decided on a super scary Halloween costume but no one was scared

Here’s a blocklist of the federal agency accounts that were set up on Bluesky today just to troll. You can block ‘em all at once with a couple of taps here.

Trying to validate that government shutdown won't cancel my Amtrak trip in October. I don't think so, but it kind of depends on how long "not extended" is.

Looking through bike tours for next year. So many options! I'm thinking maybe Washington State or Wisconsin. Or Michigan. Or Idaho. Or ....

I don’t know why I keep letting Nextdoor put junk in email tab, except that Wednesday a fortunate note about Covid vaccine saved me from a road trip to Maryland. But today it’s back to “Call the police” responses to the complaint that “This guy knocked on my door.”

For a medical professional in Virginia: Will you please explain why doctors can't write a prescription for COVID vaccine for a 70 year old? I don't understand why I can't get one.

Last year the Trails Crew got a wonderful check. Since it wouldn't fit in the ATM, it has been accompanying me (in pieces) to protests. Today will be its 6th. (I make no claim for creativity.)

I've never done much more than an occasional dabble with generative AI chatbots, and not found them very useful. But today chapgpt walked me step by step rescuing my 90 year old mom from some virus-type nonsense on her Chromebook from afar and, today, it earned its keep.

My new PC has an SSD and my new external drive, while HDD, is very quiet. I am having a hard time believing there's a backup going on without a lot of clacking and buzzing. I am trusting the blinking light. (And remembering the huge "birthday cake" drives I used to back up the PDP-11 to in mid-70s.)

My new mouse came with 4 poster-sized pages of text in about size .5 font, and not a single word on how to set it up. Just 3 freaking pictures. I hate pictures!

I finally gave up and ordered a new laptop for myself. The big question: Will I be able to install my MS Office 2010 once again?

Have we had a Flood Watch every day this summer? #crozet

#crozet trails Crew worked in Old Trail this morning. It's looking good out there.

This week #ShowMeYourKnits is blue. Here's my Mountain Mist sweater, a tincanknits pattern that I made in Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Worsted in colors of my beloved Blue Ridge Mountains view

This is such a ripoff. Rental companies are not fixing tiny, barely visible dings. I will be making sure I don’t rent from #Hertz.
