Part Chimp are a last minute addition to the bill at Sonic City Festival, standing in for Unwound who are postponing euro dates at this time.
We're joining a bill including Idaho, Fat Dog, Protomartyr, Marissa Nadler, Circuit Des Yeux, Micah P. Hinson, and loads more.

The album my band from before Part Chimp released 25 yrs ago just hit some of music streaming platforms. Search for "Sawyer UK". So proud of this stuff. Thanks to Jamie Watson & Human Condition Records that originally put it out way back when. #scottishmusic #fifemusic

Part Chimp have been a thing now for 25 years. These years have given me absolutely the best experiences of my life.

I'm glad that some of our stupid endeavours have found an audience, resonating more with some than others. @jonezyboy.bsky.social

I dip my toes into music journalism with this detailed piece about my love for noise rock band PART CHIMP. I've lost count of the times I've seen this awesome band in sweaty basement pubs! @terekhova.bsky.social knows what I'm talking about.

"Part Chimp are some of the best to ever have done it. They laid waste to packed, hot, sweaty rooms with their awesome racket."

30 years ago my friend Mark Wilson drew a comic strip for a fanzine that another friend - Kev Bowyer - and I were behind. It contained his vision of some scenes from the life of the wonderful Iain Banks.

Turns out he loved them. #IainBanks #IainMBanks

post a photo of you from a different era? ..here's me in a tent half way up a hill near Portree on the Isle of Skye. The classy Blue Oyster Cult shirt comes from their show at the Edinburgh Playhouse in 1989, making me 18yo here.

It’s been a long time since I was hooked by weird underground horror such as “Gorotica” (starring Ghetty Chasun who once sent me a valentine but that’s another story) or the stylish insanity of “Cemetery Man”. 1/3

Final thoughts today. My conclusion is that many in the US have no idea what's coming for it. Can't/won't believe. 'The institutions will hold'. 'There's always the courts.' Let's hope so. But the plan is shock & awe. Think high-profile scapegoats, a climate of fear, institutional cowardice.

More than a million pallets of unusable PPE has now been burned

One million pallets

Don't get me started 😡😡
More than a million pallets of unusable Covid PPE, costing £8.6 billion, have so far gone up in smoke

Billions of pounds were spent on completely unusable protective equipment, with a series of priority contracts handed to associates of Conservative ministers

Though I haven't - and may never - fully process what just happened in the 2024 US election, I would usually be inclined towards support for those who have been victimised - in this case many unknowingly played as suckers, chumps, and patsies - yet I'm struggling deeply at the moment. 1/6
