Two wines this weekend from Bourgogne, both 2022, made by Benoit Kilian. The first is an aligoté. It was direct pressed but he encountered fermentation problems so the skins were added later for a short maceration. Lovely lemon, pear, beeswax/pollen, white flowers and bay leaf. A little VA, not much

More Alsace tonight. Léonard Dietrich cuvée Stammtisch, Auxerrois/Riesling 2023, don’t think it’s macerated. Low acid, a little citrus, a little melon, a little honey, some alpine spring flowers, with some nice minerality and very light tannin and smoke from the auxerrois. Medium level alcohol, 13%
