I offer a somewhat skeptical take in this article on east-west transmission
The thing we can do right now for energy self-reliance is build energy efficiency micro-grids. If a "macrogrid" plugs into those local capabilities, it will be transformative.

Likewise, esp after a discussion yesterday with my sis about whether my recent test results showing elevated liver enzymes could be attributed to elevated cortisol and whether I can do much about the existential angst behind both. (I can, of course, but the concern borne of awareness is real.)
