On universities the white paper only reduces the graduate visa from two years to 18 months (which is a win for the DfE).

The bigger thing universities will be worrying about is this little timebomb.

I was there on collaborations in the past. Biochemistry was hugely successful in federal grants. This is deliberately killing off excellence. Motive?

I have met students and academic staff over the years who fully believe that privilege is a proxy for inherent ability. Hence my interest.

The university advice in full is “try to undo some of the unhelpful mythology about the relationship of wealth to intelligence or hard work”. By doing this, it looks like the university thinks some of its students are inherently stupid or at best stupidly educated in believing the ‘myth’.
