Just watched a film titled The Good Die Young. Excellent British noir from the fifties. Cracking cast includes Laurence Harvey, Stanley Baker and Richard Basehart. Always nice to see Gloria Grahame but she was wasted in this film.

Just watched a film titled St Benny the Dip. It was nominally a comedy. Typical production from the Danziger Brothers - cheap and full of narrative holes which the viewer is expected to fill in. Surprised to see it was directed by Edgar G Ulmer of all people.

Trump is gradually eroding the freedom of the media. All that's left then is to attack the independence of the judiciary and democracy is replaced by autocracy.

Finished reading a book titled Teenage Daydream by Debsey Wykes. It's about how she and two friends formed a group called Dolly Mixture in the late seventies. I confess I've never heard of the group but after reading the book I feel that I know them intimately and pleased that life worked out well.

Just watched a film titled Denver and Rio Grande. Rollicking good western with an original story. Good cast of Edmond O'Brien, Dean Jagger and playing a villain for once Stirling Hayden. Excellent Technicolour too.
