The Star Trek episode, "And the Children Shall Lead", ends with five children crying their eyes out while a half dozen adults just ignore it. Three are very young boys, one is an older girl & one an older boy. Dr. McCoy gives physical comfort to only the girl, carrying her while ignoring the boys.
