To Prez, this remains one of best community notes of all time. To prove we can’t be beaten this idiot tweets a picture of 5 of our warships, 4 of which had been sunk. The remaining is probably now out of action.

It is a 5-year tradition by now to do predictions at the end of each year and to review how last year's predictions performed (I got ~3/4 mostly right).

Gaming on Linux is on the rise. SteamOS and the Steam Deck popularized it, desktop distros like Bazzite and Cachy are taking it to the next level. I tried it on some Lenovo hardware and dove into the ...

One of my greatest worries about climate was “countries will not trust each other enough to do this” but that’s actually become somewhat moot as renewables have become way preferable for many growing countries precisely /because/ they do not trust temperamental petrostates.

One of the funniest things I've read this week is The Verge just ... checking if any of the AI prompts show in a Copilot ad actually work IRL. 0 out of 5 do.

Microsoft made another Copilot ad where nothing actually works
I don’t want Copilot for Christmas.

Just installed Bazzite on a monster of a Lenovo Legion 7i review unit for an upcoming video. Had to jump through a few hoops, but it's been remakably smooth since!

I recently heard gold being described somewhere (can't remember where) as a bet *against* collective human ingenuity. So you buy it when you think governments, companies and people will collectively *not* figure out a way to make progress on stuff overall.

New Fairbuds XL just launched. Really nice pair and the drivers are backwards compatible with the previous Gen. Will talk about them in the Friday Checkout!

Is it me or have the European brands this year pretty much all finally figured out how to make great EVs? BMW Neue Klasse, the Renault 4 & 5, the Mercedes GLC, etc. All getting rave reviews, good range, good driving assist, good infotainment, etc. Like they needed a really big kick in the balls.

This has to be the wildest opt-in checkbox I've ever seen

- Made to look like you are agreeing to a privacy policy, when in fact it's a marketing opt-in
- Instead of "by agreeing you optin in" they added two negatives "by NOT agreeing you are opting OUT" to confuse you
