A phone sketch of the scene at the Seattle courthouse today. Packed wall-to-wall with energy and excitement for mayor Katie Wilson!

Should I make a full painting of the event? I think I might!

I managed to finish this piece before midnight! I present my final piece of 2025, and first square foot cityscape--

"Capitol Hill Sunset" 12x12" acrylic on canvas.

Thank you all for your support.
Here's to a brand new year of art, expressoon, and optimism!

Study from bezos's balls yesterday. If you're visiting Seattle-- there are hundreds of better areas to explore. This is just a cartoonish soulless corporate lair one block from a strip club mega complex, its just depressing down there. I just wanted to be able to say I painted them

Summer painting of the new aquarium expansion in Seattle.

I have made a lot of progress since painting this-- but I'm still really happy with how it turned out! High hopes for next year's pieces!

Looking back, this is a contender for favorite piece of 2025.

The Bell Harbor Beacon is an enigmatic sculpture that marks the entrance to the marina at the Seattle waterfront. The water had this amazing, chrome like appearance that evening, that I'm so happy I was able to capture.

One more little animal painting from a couple months ago. My sweetheart Mama Blue-- a neocaridina, who gave birth to dozens of nearly microscopic babies when I was managing a colony of these sub-inch shrimpies. I wouldn't recommend it if you ever want to eat shrimp again.

Mini acrylic painting I made for one of my local grocers-- The amazing and endlessly talented trash panda. Raccoon to a layman; or, in native Powhatan, "hrah-koon-em" (phonetic) "The one that scratches with its hands."

Personally, I usually just call them little buddies.

I painted this duck yesterday after selling one of my last remaining stock of animal pieces. Great practice for realism and depicting water ripples.

And ducks.

Recent park painting from my "City Minis" series:

"Occidental Park" 6x6" acrylic on canvas with wrap-around detailing. The sculptures around Seattle are just delightful. It's almost impossible to find a street scene that doesn't feature some kind of beautiful local art.

The page helps his lord prepare a missive concerning the new, surprising arrival in town.

"Firenze RX-78" is a 6x6" varnished acrylic with wrap-around detailing, and the first in a series where I explore the juxtaposition of mis-matched scene and subject.. It's a robot in Florence

The surprise of a friendly face arriving out of the lush treetops.

"Squirrel Leap" is a 6x6" varnished acrylic on canvas with wrap-around detailing, depicting one of my favorite creatures, too eager to retrieve a treat.

One of my favorite pieces to date. The eclectic energies of "Composition no. 3," an acrylic on canvas, varnished and wrap-around detailed, scream nostalgia and presence, with a deeply emotional yet vibrant resonance.

Little plein air painting from sunset today. August was pretty successful as far as street-art-sales! I also pushed myself and completed 24 paintings during the month. They're small, but the momentum is everything!
