More and more the United States is looking like the beginnings of our worst fear; the resurrection of the third reich of 1936. And not enough of the population is angry enough not to be scared silent. I’m hoping the upcoming No Kings III national day of protest will bring out more than 10 million.

It comes down to the bottom line, which I believe is this: There are more of us than there are of them. So what will determine the outcome is how many of us are willing to go the distance, to forego all our fears and doubts,and show ourselves to be the true and free American people.

In the midst of this existential crisis for our Constitution, I find a moment to reflect on another true American institution: baseball.
And while I do put the game into perspective, I also recognize the need we have for a brief respite from the trauma we live with daily. Season starts in 30 days.

I don't know why it took me so long to realize that most boomers, and many millennials, have a good understanding of WWII and Nazi Germany and what a threat that aggression was to the entire world. But starting with Gen X and since, that part of history is about as real as a video game.

I'm hearing a lot of talk about a stay home day on Feb.15, which btw is the birthday of Susan B. Anthony. Apparently means no work school,travel, spending money. IDK.
