#TaxSky I had a client come to me today. Back in October we were going to file his 2022 and 2023 returns. He had ignored all my calls before October 15, 2024. He told me today that He heard Trump had dissolved the #IRS and he didn’t need to file anymore. But then he got a letter. I was stunned.

I’m really confused. MAGA and Trump blamed Biden/Democrats for the price of eggs. But now with the prices going up it’s still not Trump’s fault? Is there a date we can look forward to that Trump is responsible? Silly me, he’ll take credit for good news, blame when bad!

Good morning #taxsky #taxtwitter #taxbs I call PPS this morning and the inconsistencies of agents continues to astound me. Needed to fax in 2848’s but this agent didn’t give me the fax # instead put me on hold to verify me. Then I get the fax and wait another 5 minutes. So inefficient!

Celebrating helping a client get through to Maryland Comptroller after being frustrated with their website. Successfully negotiated 50% reduction of interest which the client called a “Christmas Miracle!” Little things like that make me feel better about what I’m doing #taxaky

(For context, IRS received 189,448,392 tax returns.)

Today’s NATP Tax Update session is discussing filling out a W4 correctly. I don’t think there is another item I deal with that is as infuriatingly frustrating as this. Example: 2019 filling out Single no dependents resulted in $73 in withholding. In 2020 that dropped to $44. WTF? #tax #IRS
