Should gf be mad at tattoo guy?
So my gf wanted to get a cover up and the guy wanted to blast over it in white ink first...this is how it looks after five days. I've personally had portions of tattoos that look like this (very raised and scabbed) and they either take multiple years to fully visibly heal (no visible scars or scabs) or the ink will fall out entirely. I'm worried that blasting over it in white ink was a complete waste of time and skin damage. What do you guys think? Will most of this shit just end up scabbing and falling out when it heals? Weird placement?
Hi guys, Looking for some constructive advice on this recent tattoo I got. Is the placement as awkward as I think it is? Or am I just having tattoo panic and it’s actually fine? I do plan to add more tattoos to this arm and I also plan on adding more shading to the inside of the card around the woman and the monster but I just keep having anxiety that it looks off or weird. Elbow tattoo is this normal?
Hey all, I just got an elbow tattoo two days ago and I don’t know anyone with one, so I’m not sure what’s normal for this spot. I like the design, but I’m wondering if there might be some blowout. A few lines look slightly fuzzy or darker under the skin, especially when my arm is bent, and I can’t tell if that’s just swelling or something permanent. Aftercare I was given was just to gently moisturize it, and they didn’t put any second skin on it at all. No unusual pain or heat, redness seems normal. I know elbows are tricky and move a lot, so I’d love to hear from people who have elbow tattoos, did yours look rough at first and then settle? Thanks in advance for your advice! Back of head tattoo advice
Hello, so as someone dealing with alopecia specifically one that is targeting hair on the back of my head and nape of neck I’ve decided to go forward with tattooing the area. I wanted to see peoples opinions and experiences if they’ve dealt with something similar and what to expect pain level wise. Just as a side note I am someone who already has a lot of work done on them already ( stomach,chest,sleeves,hands,neck and a few on a leg) I’ll also attach the inspo for the tattoo I’m looking to do. First time questions and concerns
****Not my tattoo*** Hey everyone! I've been wanting to get a tattoo for the longest time and now that I've started considering certain artist in my area I'm getting nervous. I have a couple questions regarding placement and job. I want to get a face hugger tattoo since I'm a huge fan of the Alien franchise. I saw this tattoo and love it. My concern is placement. I work in a corporate engineering job and while it is relaxed, I'm just wondering if anyone similar in my position had any difficulties with job interviews or if they recommend getting it somewhere where it's easily coverable. Also pain lol since I do have a low pain tolerance. Last thing: I know I should get whatever I like and disregard what other ppl think but is it an ugly tattoo? Medusa Tattoo
I (M28) was thinking of getting a tattoo like this on my thigh because I think it’s a cool design and medusa is pretty bad ass. When I spoke to my friend about it she said I shouldn’t due to the meaning, that Medusa tattoos are often gotten by survivors of SA. Is this something I (not a survivor of SA) should avoid? What would go well with my current tats?
Hi! My artist is opening up her books soon and I’d love to get another work of art to keep with me forever. I’m having trouble thinking of things that would match both my current tattoos, but also my interests/‘vibes’ (I like feeling like a whimsical fairy princess or something lol). I love both the ocean and celestial bodies and stuff, in addition to the florals/vines that I have going on, and would love to incorporate either or build off the vibes I have currently. The current plan that I have for future tattoos is to connect my arm vines with the sword on my back, have it wrap around my ribs and down to my right thigh (I am doing laser hair removal and want to wait until that’s over). I quite like the look of one side being tattooed and the other side (arms or legs) being completely empty so I feel like I don’t have much space 😅. Is my new tattoo supposed to be this faded?
I got this done on the 22nd of January, and its peeled a lot (I’ll put a before and after) and my artist has said when it’s done healing it’ll look more vibrant and its just this dull / faded because it’s healing. I’m really anxious about it though. Touch ups are free for the first 6 months luckily but specifically I’m just hoping for a more experienced person to tell me whether or not its going to return to ‘normal’ or if this faded appearance is gonna stay and if I’ll recquire a touch-up pretty soon. Cover up ideas?
You guys probably remember me from my last post asking if my tattoo was overworked and you all pointed out that it looked phallic. I asked friends and looked harder myself as it started healing, and yeah it fucking does LMAOOO especially if i bend my elbow. we all make mistakes, it was done by an apprentice and i’m not great with placement either. the other tattoo they did was beautiful! sometime down the line i would like to get it covered up. im thinking something floral? australian botanicals or animals would be nice but not sure. what could be made of it because of the angle and the dark clasp part of the safety pin (yes, it was meant to be a broken safety pin…) Last is the other one they did on the same day just so you know they’re just learning and not a hack at all!!! Best placement for a tattoo?
Hey guys! So, I have been wanting a tattoo for THE longest time, but have been unable since Im a broke college student barely surviving working as a barista. But my brother and sister in law offered to pa/y for me to get a tattoo done for my 21st bday :D they have gotten their tattoos from this parlor before and said it's really good. we will be going in for a consultation next week, since it is my first tattoo and I want to be comfortable and sure. I will be getting it colored with the pink and white (purple here is just so you can see it better), but my issue is placement. SIL says the bony parts of your body hurt less, my brother says it hurts A LOT. Honestly I'm not concerned about the pain; though I will say I have a low pain tolerance but I can usually suck it up. The reason I'm having so much trouble is I want the tattoo in an area where I can cover it if needed, but show it off when I want to. Stomach is out of the question and I dont really wear tanks or off the shoulder tops either. I wear t-shirts a lot so having it on my shoulder would cover it. Help 9 day old tattoo
I got my grandparents hearts they drew tattooed on me. The first day looks super crisp and almost exactly how they drew it. 9 days later it’s thicker in places especially second heart :/ is it fucked ? Or does it typically thicken as it heals then levels out again. I know it doesn’t look terrible. But I just like things being the same thickness at least 🤣 and I’m petrified it’s going to blow out and lose more shape. It’s day 9 and it’s thickened a lot… will this just get worse. Need ideas for a cover up
hey yall, so i did this tattoo on myself when i was 18 (i know i know it was stupid) and my tattoo artist told me that she wanted to look at it in person to see if she can like redo it. she said it was blown out so i’m honestly thinking that i’m going to need to cover it up. i can’t find anything anywhere that’s not like sparklers or whatever. does anyone have any ideas???? please don’t come for me for tattooing my face lol. i know it was dumb and irresponsible. thank you <3. Update for those interested, rework done by grahmatter at studio a tattoo Houston, tx
I wasn't very happy with my original tattoo and decided to ask yall for opinions, got some great advice and was pointed to studio a for consulting an artist by a friend. Went with grahmatter as my artist and he had great insight on ways to improve it. They treated me great and did awesome for what I brought in and he had no issue with my defibrillator being under the site. Cheers yall, thank you for your advice. Already extreme fading?
Tattoo is a week old. Yes, I'm very aware fading will happen, but it looks like I'm losing tons of shade in the head of the rose and not really the stem? Still too early to tell? Eye of providence was a flash sale tattoo that I stupidly put on my chest. Can’t say I hate it, but can’t say I love it either. The Deadpool on my chest was the product of a drunken night on the town. Last I remembered of the evening was walking into a parlor completely blacked out drunk, slapped two hundred on the counter and said “do what you want where you want, just not the face.” Both are from my 18-20 era, I’m currently 25. Over people asking “what is that” laser? Cover?
Got this tattoo really young. Ended up so shitty, dark, and just looks bad. I hate it. It’s behind my tricep so hard to completely cover. Was supposed to be meaningful because I’ve had 11 and counting surgeries fixing generic bone issues. And it’s turned into something I really don’t like. blown out, healing smudge, or plasma-swelling beneath the skin??
hi there reddit !! i got my first tattoo on sunday night. my artist gave me a saniderm wrap, and told me to keep it on for 24-38 hours. i ended up keeping it on for 24 hours, because i was sacking ink, blood, and plasma super badly into the wrap and it became compromised. when i took the second skin off, with clean hands ofc, i hopped in the shower and cleaned it under luke-warm water with a gentle stream [ while avoiding the main pressure streams ] and when i got out of the shower.. i noticed all the lines had gotten super super blurry. [ as for aftercare i've been washing gently with unscented, antibacterial dial soap and applying a very thin layer of tattoo goo balm ] reference first photo to see what it looked like day of. the other photo references are of the progressing days. anyways, if it is blowout, is my tattoo salvageable ?? can it be touched up to hide the blowout ?? it's not noticable to the naked eye, that's what my boyfriend has told me.. but is is noticable to me, because i know what it's *supposed* to look like, and that's what bothers me. i feel a little bummed out. this is my first tattoo and i wanted it to be something i'm confident in, something that stands out. that's why i chose my chest for a location. because i usally wear looser clothing that shows my cheat. that and i did extensive research into who i wanted to be my artist, and the woman i chose was so sweet and reputable. she told me she had been doing tattoos for 15 years, and she was pretty booked out when i got an appointment/consolation with her, and she seemed professional / expirenced. did i mess the tattoo up, or was it something i can't help??
