We had a special visitor at Springfield Bees Pre-school, MP for Chelmsford, @mariecgoldman.bsky.social ! 🍋
She joined a classic TastEd activity: “What’s in the Sock?” 🧦
The children explored lemons, peppers & kohlrabi, using all their senses! 🥦
Thanks to all who made it joyful! 💚 #TastEd

Tomatoes are at their seasonal best - it's the perfect time to introduce them. Especially if you can get your hands on a sweeter variety or pick them off the plant. Then explore the fruit with your senses!
Familiarity helps to build taste even if they don’t want to try today. 🍅

🥗A Grand Salad 🥗
The Tudors believed salad was something very special - a celebration of fresh produce; elaborate and intricate! At Millfields Community School, the Year 4s gave making their own Grand Salad a go.

What would you put in your Grand Salad?

🌱TastEd at Ramadan🌱
What do you do when some children are fasting during a TastEd session?
👂In a lesson focussing on sound, we snapped vegetables near our ears and squished them. It sparked fun conversations - who would have thought that spinach sounds like a rainforest? 🌳

TastEd stands for Taste Education. Can you tell me what your senses are?

Before each TastEd activity, we go through the five senses, creating familiarity and confidence. They're then ready to see, touch, smell, listen or taste different vegetables and fruits!
