I've been laid off as part of The Washington Post's job cuts today. This is an incredibly sad day, not just for my colleagues and I, but for journalism as a whole.

While I'm not sure what's next, I know I'll bounce back and continue to elevate.

The NFL is now down to just 3 Black head coaches. And Mike McDaniel, who identifies as biracial, and Eric Bieniemy are currently the only offensive coordinators of Black descent in the league.

Despite that, the injury rate on kickoffs was lower than it was with the previous rules.
The NFL kickoff return rate went up from about 32% in 2024 to almost 75% in 2025.

ACL injuries were down about 25% in the NFL this year, a 7-year low. Concussions were "up a bit" according to NFL EVP, player health & safety Jeff Miller.

Jones will be a first-time NFL defensive coordinator. He's been with the Vikings since 2022 and most recently served as a DC with LSU in 2021.

Late to the party on this one, but can confirm Vikings defensive passing game coordinator Daronte Jones is interviewing today for the Commanders' DC vacancy. NFL Network was first.

Jones is the ninth known candidate for the gig, but two (Flores/Gannon) are no longer in play.

Stapleton has been on staff since 2024. Played a big role in the development of RT Josh Conerly Jr. this year.
The #Commanders are promoting Darnell Stapleton to offensive line coach and Shane Toub to assistant offensive line coach, person familiar confirms. ESPN first reported.

Stapleton spent last season as asst. OL coach, while Toub was quality control.

The #Commanders are interviewing Brian Flores for their DC vacancy today, a person familiar with the situation confirmed. NFL Network was first on that.

Can also confirm the team interviewed Karl Scott, as ESPN reported, and is meeting with Jonathan Gannon tomorrow.

The Lions had put in a formal request to interview Blough for their own OC vacancy, I'm told. The #Commanders clearly didn't want to risk letting him walk.

Blough was still playing in *2023*. This season was just his second as a coach. Now, he'll become an OC in his third.
