Interesting that AI was partially at fault for not allowing continuous assessment but now that it's in service of the Leaving Cert it's permissible

If the State removes children from their families there is an assumption that they can do better. At the very least to provide a safe place to live.
And that's just not the case for so many children in care right now.

12,722 children are now overdue an assessment of need. Some of us 'completed' the assessment a year ago and still await a service statement. We have nothing. I shared Doireann's story on @newstalkfm.bsky.social in an attempt to illustrate that a complete assessment is just the first step. What then?

12,722 children are now overdue an assessment of need. Some of us 'completed' the assessment a year ago and still await a service statement. We have nothing. I shared Doireann's story on @newstalkfm.bsky.social in an attempt to illustrate that a complete assessment is just the first step. What then?
Crisis also breeds crisis as we put out fires rather than creating long term sustainable futures...
I asked teachers to share the "opportunities" the supply crisis has created.
