Unlike many other multiplayer genres, it’s the easiest thing in the world to play competitive fighting games without the One Big Tournament. It’s one on one. There are so many ways to supplant and replace EVO, so there’s no reason to be loyal to it

years ago when a mutual's game of choice got into evo, I remember a lot of people being excited but he and some others were not. And this was before being bought out. Mind you there understandably would have been other reasons at that time.

if nothing changes by next summer, this is the last chance for our community to push back. The big ask is not spending $2000 to go to Vegas to play video games once. I'm not expecting much but it at least feels possible because the requirement for protest is simply not doing jack shit

It's got less spyware. It doesn't have a subscription. It has buttons. It generally works and if not is easier to repair. It's not as easy to get hacked. They don't get constant pop ups and ads.
