...Steve Buchele wrapped out two doubles for the only extra base hits on the day for Texas.

This concludes June 8th, 1987.

Ominous sign for Seattle, so based on these results I'm picking the Seahawks by 11 in the Super Bowl today.🤪

Shutouts, no-hitters, and walkoff home runs bring out the Beautiful Shuffle Girls in #1947League. Since this one checks TWO of those three, I picked an extra-long performance.

(If you've been following #1947League and you know the answer, maybe sit out this question? It's designed either for newcomers OR as a pretext to make the song tomorrow a Commissioner's Choice.)

What made Dan Bankhead's debut with the Dodgers in 1947 so special?

DAN BANKHEAD TWIRLS NO-HITTER

It's nearly perfect. Errors in 1st and 8th produce the only baserunners. They don't advance. Josh Gibson's 4th-inning home run (35) provides the offense for the Browns, who win 1-0. In addition to pitching a masterpiece, Dan (11-5) goes 3-4 at the plate!
