As long as guns are easily available to crazy people, mass killings directed at so-called soft targets will continue. This is a fact. Countries where it's more difficult for crazy people to obtain guns have less shootings. This is also a fact. Do with these facts as you will.

As a Buddhist, I believe in non-violence to solve our problems.
I have yet to see those condemning the left for lionizing Luigi Mangione even once criticize the right’s vile embrace of Kyle Rittenhouse, or Trump and Vance inviting Daniel Penny to be their political prop at a football game.

I’m starting to think that the longer we shield Trump voters from the worst economic outcomes, the worse things actually will get.
Sometimes people just have to find out the hard way, sad as that is. Yes, we will suffer. But at least they will learn that elections do have consequences.

When I was a child, I learned that the Constitution didn’t apply to people like us. I said the Pledge of Allegiance from inside a barbed wire camp, the words “with liberty and justice for all” wholly meaningless.
But I did not give up on America. I’ve spent my life fighting for its ideals.

When we were children, we were taught that no matter how you reached, no matter much wealth and power you accumulated, you were not above the law.
We can no longer teach our children that.
And that's really fucking tragic.
