That means Bouie, Coaston, and Dr Cottem too. We aren't making exceptions.
Mohammed El-Kurd on The New York Times

"When we're talking about the New York Times, we're talking about an organization that is deeply complicit, that has so much blood on its hands. [..] I don't think anybody should be working at the NYT, or writing for the NYT or writing op-eds in the NYT."

Online trans culture is getting so much more pessimistic and it's starting to actually affect me.

Fatalism about transition not doing anything and resignation about being third-sexed is so common now. As is talking about lesbians as though they're distinct from and antagonistic to trans women.

BREAKING: Philadelphia workers have won the first Whole Foods union under Amazon with UFCW.

Since Amazon bought the chain, workers have lost benefits and felt the squeeze.

Now they're fighting back against the multi-trillion dollar giant and hoping this win will be the first of many.

and my obligatory final word:

today's democrats aren't who will liberate us in the end, but the folks nearest institutional power are the ones who can, while things are bad, most easily help hold up falling sky & buy time.

this shit can be both "not enough" & "really matter."

it matters to try.🏳️‍⚧️

If you were concerned about Kimmel, here's another for you…

Journalist Mario Guevara has been detained for 100+ days, ironically arrested as he reported on a "No Kings" protest.

The Trump-Vance admin just issued an order of final removal, to send him to El Salvador—where he fled from 21 years ago.

I have this notepad doc called “Nice Things 💕” that partners and friends have told me over the years that I peek at when I’m feeling bad about being myself.

It’s a good meditative habit- grounding in the ways people tell you how special and important and kind you are, how lucky they are to have you

Maybe I should learn to do this
When artist Daniel Hoffman‘s aunt Sheila Rocco passed away in 2011, Hoffman, who was then studying ceramics at Ohio State University, sank into an emotional pit.

The only way out, to him, was to create an heirloom that would honor her life.
An Ardmore ceramic artist will turn your loved one’s ashes into an object of your choice

I simply cannot stress it enough.

You cannot sit this out.

They are coming for EVERYTHING. No media, no creators are safe under these policies. They want us poor, they want us criminalized, they want us disenfranchised.

Call paypros. Call your reps. Do SOMETHING.
Woke up to quite the update on this. I had been in contact with Payment Cloud about getting their service and they waited until now to hit me with the image below. Again, stringing me along instead of being upfront. They had seen my website multiple times before this.

I wrote my upcoming verse novel Hekate inspired by ancient Greek poet and playwright Euripides’ structure. I loved writing this book and was bereft when I finished it. It’s one of those stories that lingers - an intimating goddess of necromancy telling us her origins.

One thing I like about this platform as a socialist is that while it'd easy to complain about liberals, there's alot of liberals here who are actually really thoughtful about their politics that I could actually see myself having a fruitful conversation with.
