#Kyrgyzstan: Although 15 years have passed since the deadly ethnic clashes in the south of Kyrgyzstan, wounds still have not healed and new ones added with ongoing demolitions in Osh. I write about it in my oped here: thediplomat.com/2025/06/15-y...
15 Years On, Ethnic Uzbeks Sill Face Bias in Kyrgyzstan
Several ethnic Uzbeks from Osh said that the 2010 trauma continues to inform their daily lives and that the government’s efforts have largely been ineffective.

My latest piece for @inequality.org on how the platform economy runs on #inequality while sidestepping labor rights.

This isn’t about rejecting technology. It’s about making sure companies don’t hide exploitation behind an app. #ILC2025

HRW comes out with an incredibly detailed report on the rise in anti-migrant violence, arbitrary detention and forced military conscription of migrants in Russia

Made a small contribution to this report, but it includes some first-hand testimonies of the horrible situations faced by migrants in RU
In a new report, HRW documents that Central Asian migrants, mostly from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan working in Russia face ethnic profiling, arbitrary arrests, and harassment by police and private actors, including far-right nationalist groups.
