I didn't know what to expect when you came over. We were so close, I was afraid you could feel my heartbeat. But I could feel yours; it was steady and calm, opposite to mine. We laid there for what felt like hours. (I think about us.) You held my hand. (I like holding your hand.) Our legs intertwined. (I've thought about kissing you.) It all felt like second nature. (Maybe I want to.) I shouldn't care so much, but it's too late now. (I see a future with you.) You planted the seeds when I wasn't looking. (I see us together.) (But labels are scary, you know?) I still remember how my throat burned. By the time you left, thorns dotted my skin. (I just don't know what I'm feeling!) I spent months picking each one out. (Hey, wifey!)
