I decided to indulge myself with a mystery box from @worksofwhimsy.bsky.social to start off the new year. Since I live in one of the most spectacular deserts in the world, I decided to display my latest acquisitions outside.
All my newly acquired treasures displayed on a sunlit rock. Two complete sets of dice, several dice-shaped ornaments, and some decorative ornaments all presided over by a mimic with a Works of Whimsy business card clamped in its jaws. The mimic box looks right at home nestled in the midst of a cholla cactus. The mimic box sits on top of a steel post in front of a rocky hilltop covered with saguaro cacti.

Found out that @tkingfisher.com would be in Tucson for a book fair. I'd enjoyed her webcomic "Digger" so I figured buying another book of hers would be worth the gamble. "Swordheart" was available. Sword & sorcery & romance? Sounds good.
It was! I will DEFINITELY buy more of her books!
