It would be handy for Trump to get involved in a war so he's got an excuse not to hold elections wouldn't it? #wato

This Ovenden guy assumes civil servants aren't ordinary people. Given what most of them earn and where they live, they're much more ordinary than the likes of Ovenden. They should be listened to by governments. #r4today

Other than an attempt to get younger listeners, I don't see the point of this babies project on #r4today. It would be better as a standalone programme.

What a shame Farage doesn't have dual citizenship (as far as we know). Yaxley Lennon on the other hand... #wato

Farage is lucky there wasn't social media when he was at Dulwich College isn't he? Currently it's his word against 20 odd fellow pupils and a teacher I think.

Ah, that's why we have our first outdoor sauna in Walthamstow. First dates for all the young folk. Good on them! #r4today

Lovely to have a mini 'In Our Time' with Melvyn. Hope we continue to hear him on the radio. #r4today

No push back at all from Justin Webb to this Trump supporter's anti "woke" nonsense. Meanwhile people can't visit the US if their social media doesn't suck up to the great leader. #r4today

Farmers need to get with the programme on animal welfare so the government is doing them a favour with these changes. Otherwise there'll be more young people like my son who become vegan having looked at how animals are treated in food production. #r4today

Maybe we need to introduce some age discrimination legislation if we want people to work into older age. Where I worked age discrimination was rife. It was a London local authority run by Labour. #r4today

Can someone tell me what the pay offer to resident doctors is? I'm not finding it on the BBC or BMA websites. Would like to know if it is below inflation/by how much.

Hooray for the return of Erasmus. Any chance the students who missed out on the opportunity could get a slight decrease in the interest rate on their student loans as a tiny bit of compensation? #r4today

The BBC should not settle out of court. And if Trump wins, licence fee payers should have the choice of whether to pay towards any settlement. Can't imagine many - apart from Reform voters - would be willing. #r4today

If Lucy Powell wants to improve unity in the Labour Party maybe don't start with "Great to be here in the North". Presumably they do want to keep voters in the Midlands and the South. #r4today

Clearly these Lords talking about the medical team around the dying person haven't seen 3 different GPs in the past few months giving sometimes contradictory advice. I have. #r4today

Americans work longer and live shorter lives than Europeans and yet Evan Davis thinks we should aspire to their economic model. I suggest he goes there if he likes it so much. #wato

Just back from a blood test at UCLH. No-one at the entrance giving out masks. Very few staff wearing them. Next problem will be a huge rise in staff sickness to add to the surge in patients with flu. No lessons learned from the pandemic. I wore my FFP2, should be fine. #wato

Responding to calls to wear masks in the flu outbreak Badenoch says she's "still slightly traumatised" by mask wearing. Pathetic - and irresponsible from a public figure.

This is the same Badenoch whose response to the Budget was a personal attack on Rachel Reeves for flakiness.

I'm not at all surprised that Covid support schemes were open to abuse. A colleague in the local authority I worked in was moved to the business grants team. Spent a lot of time checking for dubious claims. #r4today

We don't need more cars in urban areas. We need more public transport and bike lanes. #r4today
