From my perspective Gove the people who need to learn to integrate are the rich who don't want to pay their way in our society - you in other words. #r4today

The arch defrauder of the public is Trump. His lieutenant in the UK is Farage. #r4today

How very convenient for Robbie Gibb, Prescott and all their far right friends in GBNews that there are briefings about the Labour leadership today. Are we sure the briefings are from within Labour? #r4today

What's the problem with the BBC having a 'metropolitan' perspective as that Tory whinges about when 82% of the population lives in urban areas. #r4today

Thangam Debonnaire bang on re the BBC there. What a shame she lost her seat at the election and not the wholly inadequate to her role Lisa Nandy. #r4today

Wouldn't it be great if The News Agents (Emily Maitlis, Lewis Goodall and Jon Sopel) were brought in to run the BBC? #r4today

Think it was Ian Hislop on HIGNFY who said it's odd the BBC felt the need to edit Trump's speech. Not as if he didn't incite violence. Just play what he actually said. #r4today

So far on #r4today we've had people on what is now considered centre right (Yelland, Oliver) defending the BBC against the far right - Charles Moore.

Any chance of hearing from someone from a centre/leftish position?
November 10, 2025 at 7:40 AM
Just had a quick check on Twitter. Most on #r4today think the BBC is not too left wing. Chas Moore is very much in a minority it seems.

Amol has already given away something of the ending of The Traitors by mentioning the winner not the winners. Oops. #r4today

This is a plug for Rajan's Radical podcast with Richard Thaler which was actually much better than the strange introduction mentioning Adam Smith might suggest. #r4today

A nice little test for Gove in how successfully he can deflect from his government's many failures in office leading to these findings of polarisation. #r4today

Will Musk have as one of his targets making Tesla cars less likely to be death traps? Probably not. #r4today

Suggesting using the student loan model for asylum seekers to pay back the costs of their asylum processing is just daft. The student loan model is failing. Why use a failing model? #r4today
November 7, 2025 at 7:43 AM
That report about recouping money from companies running asylum seekers hotels gave no indication that it was the Labour govt that set up the review leading to recovering the money. The Tories were clearly very relaxed about wasting all that money. How many contracts went to their friends? #r4today

Whoever decided to have a huge image of the on the run sex offender on the side of the BBC building at the start of #newsnight should be sacked. This is not a reality show. It's such bad taste.

National insurance is still used to prove you've paid enough to get a state pension atm. If they get rid of it how will we know? #wato

A series on the British Empire from David Olusoga. The BBC can do the right thing sometimes. #r4today

Jenrick shows again that the Tories are not concerned about British feaudsters being wrongly released from prison. One of their own i guess. #r4today
November 6, 2025 at 7:19 AM
Yesterday's PMQs shows the Tories are only concerned about mistaken releases of foreign prisoners.

They seem very relaxed about British frsudsters not serving their time.

What a surprise that #bbcpm doesn't want to talk about #PMQs. That would mean focusing on the Tories' varying treatments of these prisoner releases based on whether the prisoner is British or not.
November 5, 2025 at 5:17 PM
Turns out the Tories just assumed the prisoner released in error was an asylum seeker. Would they have used the story at #PMQs if it was someone with an English sounding name? Again trying to be more Reform than Reform. #bbcpm

Not much chance of trading standards getting to grips with this given it's a local authority service and the Tories cut funding for local authorities by 50%. #politicslive

Maybe private sector pensions need to be improved not public sector pensions reduced. #r4today
