Understanding current leadership approaches requires an understanding of attention environment dynamics. CSD director @joshscacco.bsky.social explains to @politico.com how attention management is critical to President Trump’s messaging approaches.
How can we understand messaging from Trump 2.0? Drew from a decade of research on leadership comms and the presidency for this @politico.com interview with @juanbennjr.bsky.social. Dropped some Taylor and Beyoncé too in noting the “Trump tease” is not novel.

The CSD stands ready to partner with medical professionals on developing approaches that center public health and key democratic processes, such as information quality, institutional trust, and difficult conversations.
Spoke to the USF Health community recently about the politics of science comms and COVID-19 on behalf of the Center for Sustainable Democracy.

My messages:

1. Public health and democracy are connected.

2. We need to develop ways for medical professionals to cut “partisan noise” and build trust.

📰 Harassment and threats against journalists undermine the ability of reporters to spotlight those in and check political power. 🗞️

Our recent report offers recommendations for journalists and newsrooms to protect the safety of press officials.

Partisan rancor is a BIG challenge. Our @sustaindemocracy.bsky.social survey found that six-in-ten Americans see the party opposed to their political views as "hurting America" or "knowingly sabotaging the country."
