After reading this short poem, I was (more) excited (than usual) to photograph the Hudson River sunrise. Sometimes the image inspires the words. Other times the words inspire the image.

After being dormant for a number of months, the first orchid blossom opened! This brings me joy! And cultivating joy and gratitude is important. It helps to balance the challenges and daily bombshells. It keeps us going, keeps us shining and kindling each other's light. What gladdens your heart?

This, too:
Afternoon sunlight
nourishing beloved plants,
warming dripping icicles,
casting shadows on the screen,
accentuating humidifier vapor.
A small, wonderful,
stop what you're doing and savor
moment of enoughness.

This morning, we're having a beautiful New England snowstorm, and I haven't gone outside yet. Here's one from yesterday's Preston Beach sunrise. Aligning with the path of light is something I practice every morning, whether literally, metaphorically, or both. Remembering what's most important. ❤
