Mandeí Juma is one of the last survivors of the Indigenous Juma people, who once lived uncontacted in the Amazon rainforest of Brazil. Once hundreds strong, their community was devastated by violence, disease, and forced contact — culminating in a 1964 massacre that left only a handful alive.

Ngigoro traveled from Halmahera Island, Indonesia, to Paris to warn us:
“Stop the mining or my people will die.”

@survivalfr.bsky.social mobilized outside Eramet’s HQ, as the company keeps ignoring our warnings about them destroying Ngigoro's people's rainforest.

André & Eric Karipuna know there are uncontacted people in their territory; they’ve seen the proof.

Eric even saw two of them really close to his village.

The two friends want their neighbors’ choice to remain uncontacted to be respected, and for the Karipuna Indigenous territory to be protected.

42 years ago, Marçal de Souza Tupã’i was murdered.

Marçal was a great leader of the Guarani Kaiowá Indigenous people in Brazil, and was one of the founders of the Indigenous movement in Brazil.

A win for Brazil’s Indigenous peoples! 💪

An Indigenous territory, home to contacted and uncontacted Indigenous people, has finally been fully recognized after decades of delay.

This is a resounding victory for the Indigenous movement in Brazil, who’d been fighting for this move for years.
