I feel like I'm seeing a trend (bro, two instances do not a trend make) of authors giving a real world setting to their stories, but missing out on really obvious (to my editor brain) details of those real world settings.
For example, one book with a setting on the southern Mendocino coast...

I am such a nerd (in a good way). I rescued a very old TV from the junk out front the hoader's house on our street thinking future #TVHead project. It's a 50 year old Toshiba branded as Sears unit. I found it in an old catalog for $97! And today found what might be the Xmas eve build date?
