LA County Supervisor, proudly serving Southeast LA, the Gateway Cities, Long Beach, the Harbor Area, and parts of the South Bay.
Can't wait to watch the 4th District's very own Chloe Kim & Beatrice Kim in the Winter Games.

Chloe is from Torrance, and Beatrice is from Palos Verdes—and both women are representing Team USA in snowboarding.

Congratulations to these Olympians. We're rooting for you back home!

11 years later, the Torrance Refinery & Valero Wilmington Refinery still use MFH—the chemical that nearly caused a mass casualty disaster in the 2015 Torrance Refinery explosion.

Join us Saturday as we call on these refineries to phase out MFH and use a safer alternative.

This was not just an act of vandalism, this was a horrific violation of a school and faith community.

This should be a safe place for families to live their faith and for children to grow and learn. Instead, it has been desecrated.

We just approved my motion w/ @hildasolis.bsky.social to raise the eviction threshold for unpaid rent in unincorporated LA County from 1 month to 2 months.

I hope this extra month will give families breathing room while not putting the entire burden on landlords who depend on rental income.

Black History Month is here!

You can celebrate all month long with LA County Parks through a series of workshops, art, music, storytelling, and community events.

Healthcare workers have always had our backs, and now it’s time for us to have theirs. 💪

I’m joining workers on the picket line at Kaiser’s South Bay Medical Center today to call on Kaiser to get back to the table and negotiate a fair contract for these workers.

Learned today that CDFW is planning to approve the Catalina Island Conservancy’s plan to eradicate Catalina’s entire deer population.

This comes even after our LA County Fire Chief raised the alarm that eliminating the deer would make wildfires more likely and more dangerous.

Proud to represent the Artesia High Pioneers!

Their girls varsity volleyball team made history this year by earning the school’s 1st CIF Southern Section Division 8 Championship—and today I invited the team to our board meeting to formally honor them.

Congratulations on this huge accomplishment 👏

Today I sent a letter to CDFW’s new interim director, urging the department to reject a plan to eradicate the Catalina deer population.

Our LA County Fire Chief has been clear that the deer help mitigate wildfire risk—and the deer are beloved by residents and tourists alike.

I stand with the UNAC/UHCP nurses and healthcare workers at Kaiser Downey and across the region who are on strike.

I urge Kaiser Permanente to get back to the table and negotiate a fair contract for these 31,000 frontline workers.

As we honor Dr. King today, I think it's important to remember that his peaceful protests against racism were controversial, and his message wasn’t embraced by all. But he stood firmly on the right side of history.

Now it's up to us to continue his legacy & fight for equality.

Today, on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday, I can’t help but think about his visit to Los Angeles, when my dad Kenny Hahn was the only elected official who agreed to meet him at the airport.

That story has shaped my life, more than any political lesson my dad taught me.

Today I'm sending a letter to Kristi Noem, calling on her to withdraw ICE agents from all American cities.

These ICE agents are too dangerous for our streets, and the situation can only get worse.

The EPA will now only calculate the cost of pollution regulations on industry – not the value of saving lives.

This flies in the face of the very purpose of the EPA and quite literally puts profits over people.
The EPA weakened air pollution standards for new power plants and said it will no longer consider the health impacts or economic costs of some of the most dangerous pollutants.

The move is part of the Trump EPA’s broader effort to roll back regulations.
EPA says it will no longer consider health costs in pollution regulations
The EPA weakened emissions standards for new power plants and said it would no longer consider the economic impacts of public health in rule making.

Number 56? I can do better than that.

Never imagined I would be on the White House Enemies List, but at least I am in good company.

Everyone who has seen this video knows ICE murdered this woman.

These ICE agents are too dangerous, and they should not be operating on our streets.

Thank you to Rev. Dr. Candace Cole-Kelly, founder and Senior Pastor of Acts Community Bible Church in Lakewood, for joining us today and leading us in our invocation.

Right now we are hearing the first set of recommendations to the board from our Governance Reform Task Force.

This is just the beginning, but I am happy to see the work that's already been done and ideas for how the County can better involve the public in our budget process.

Proclaiming January as Human Trafficking Prevention Month was so important that we approved two motions on it—one from my office with Supervisor Horvath, and one from @hildasolis.bsky.social.

With these proclamations, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting survivors & ending this exploitation.

2026 is already off to a great start. We had some incredible Fourth District representation in this year’s Rose Parade— the Downey Rose Float Association, Santa Fe Springs and Torrance all won awards for their floats.

Congratulations to these teams on all of your hard work!
