Effective Jan. 12, 2026, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will issue $75 civil penalties to drivers exceeding posted speed limits in the Colorado Highway 119 work zone between Boulder and Longmont.

Acting Sheriff Carey Weinheimer has enacted Stage 1 Fire Restrictions, effective Dec. 22, 2025 for unincorporated areas of eastern Boulder County. The Town of Superior is following suit in implementing these restrictions.
