here's the other element of my hot take: if you follow this reading, this does the mouthwashing thing way more strongly, imo. with mouthwashing it's reprehensible, but compartmentalized as an action of jimmy, off screen. here it's entirely the player making the active decision at every choice.

i think part of the problem was an early trailer drop around '14??? i'm not part of the fanbase as actively anymore so maybe that's why i don't feel it but i wonder if persona now having 5 games keeps people from over-thinking about p6
