Finished my embroidery reading tracker! It’s not accurate, since I over shot my goal 😅 I filled in all the books back in October, so it doesn’t have any of my reads from November or December, I’m trying to make it more adaptable for 2026 for my reading habits 🤔

But in Japan, a style that could be called a "mixed style" uniform caused a serious incident. What is a "mixed style" uniform? Recently, some schoolgirls have been showing up wearing a style regarded as a uniform — a "mix" of the official shirt, jacket, skirt, and the pants from the official tracksuit.

Recent research -- "Universal early childhood education and adolescent risky behavior" (Ando, Mori, & Yamaguchi, 2025) -- found that early childhood education in Japan had a significant positive effect on reducing risky behavior in adolescence, like juvenile crime and teenage pregnancy. Thanks to the preschool reform, rates of juvenile violent arrests and teenage pregnancies dropped by 34% and 17%, respectively, compared to pre-reform averages.
