Been working on a scene transition for OBS using shaders and it's been so cursed I moved prototyping to Unity to be able to better see all stages. Below is essentially a UV output that I want to use for sampling scene A or B pixels. Debut in 2 weeks. 😨

Recently upgraded to a new GPU, so I started revisiting some older games. And while GhostWire: Tokyo has a lot of issues with its gameplay and mission structure, it is still such an impressive technical showcase.

Ugh. I am not enjoying my time with Godot. It's constantly jumping over hoops and figuring workarounds for its limitations. To a point, where I think it would be just better if I started writing my own archive format instead of relying on PCK files. It's really bad.

This might be going too deep now. Anyhow, Deus Ex - 1112fm (which would be the same version as GOTY) indeed introduces bugs and balancing issues - one instantly noticeable being a "free" trained pistol skill. Will the Remaster fix this mess? Probably not.

This is essentially the first time I am trying to write a script for a video. It's an attempt to prove why we need a Deus Ex Remaster by diving deep (down to Unreal Script) into many issues of the OG and explaining why Aspyr already showed that they do not understand Deus Ex.

At this point I am really sick of explaining graphics team why they need to avoid using transparency if possible and why they absolutely should never use it on complex models, where there is a chance of faces in the back to be rendered after ones in the front. 😫

In terms of graphics - MJ12 lab is one that bothers me the most. One of UE1's most "in your face" features was its usage of planar reflections. In the build showed off by Aspyr they are gone completely and there is still inconsistency between brushes that are suppose to use the same material type.

Conclusion based on numbers from the last stream - clearly I need to complain about games more often.
But actually, I think it's more of an issue of me not being very energetic and it just so happens that I get more energetic when I complain about things I am passionate about.
